What type of makeup for your face is best for the over 50 yr old woman-mineral or cream?

I have been wearing Lo real mineral makeup and really like it and the way it feels, but I am wondering if it is the best for my over 50 yr old skin (just barely over 50) Any comments? What type of makeup for your face is best for the over 50 yr old woman-mineral or cream?
Cream is better than mineral makeup for all ages, especially older skin.

Here is the article that proves it. Take a look at it:

Mineral makeup, on the other hand, sits on top of your skin and can clog your pores. It is also very well known to cause cosmetic acne. I have extremely sensitive skin and break out in red, itchy welts everytime I use mineral makeup, with each brand I try.

';Bismuth Oxychloride. This is what gives mineral makeup its shimmer, and the ingredient adheres well to skin. It turns out a lot of people report skin irritation and breakouts after using mineral makeup with this ingredient!';

In my opinion, cream looks better and is absorbed more evenly.

Suggestions:

Revlon ColorStay foundation is an excellent liquid and several reviews call it the ';best inexpensive foundation.'; It's not too expensive, and is of decent quality. (If you're worrying about quality and cost.)

CoverGirl AquaSmooth is an excellent cream foundation, especially for those with older or dry and flaky skin. If your skin isn't dry, however, you don't want to put too much on because it can cause breakouts if you make your skin drink it all up. Here is the site:

There are lots of selections you can make, so please take a look at the websites I have included.

Edit: Nature_Gurlie, please don't be rude and inconsiderate. Back up your answer with facts and boost it instead of trying to make others' look bad. What type of makeup for your face is best for the over 50 yr old woman-mineral or cream?
I agree with Mitee_Aphroditee, MissSara, and especially Oddyssea. I didn't answer this question for best answer, but there seems to be a little bit of confusion here.

Cream makeup is much better for older skin, which requires more moisture. Mineral makeup is good, but can strip moisture from skin depending on which ones you use.

Obviously, not ALL mineral makeup is bad for your skin, but an overwhelming majority IS. If you find a cream makeup for your skin type, you're good to go. You can customize your cream makeup based on whether or not your skin is oily, prone to breakouts, and sensitive to certain ingredients.

Mineral makeup looks good on my skin, but I'm not 50. My skin is probably very different to yours as well in other ways. This question is about YOU, and what works for teenagers and women in their 20's probably won't work for you.

I can't pick the foundation for you because I'm not you, but take a look at this link:

(I got it from Odyssea's post. It flat out tells you that cream-based foundation is BEST for older skin.)

Cheers.
Wow, You really should not listen to Odessya. She posted that mineral makeup is not good for any skin and clogs pores. That is ridiculous as it is the other way around. Mineral makeup has less fillers (generally-certain mainstream brands still use fillers) so they cause less breakouts. I do understand she is talking about the mainstream brands that use Bismuth Oxychloride (loreal uses this in bare naturale minerals) which is known to be a irritant and has a high allergy rating but not every mineral makeup brand uses this. The very best thing you can do for your skin #1 Stop using comercial brands. They are loaded with toxic and harmful chemicals that not only degrade your skin they can also take their toll on your health. Many brands use parben preservatives which have direct ties to cancers, their are many other cancer causing chemicals ingredients and most of them are used in our everyday brands such as Revlon, Loreal, Clinique, Estee Lauder, Mary Kay etc.....Check your brand here........http://www.cosmeticdatabase.com ............or read here.........http://www.notjustaprettyface.org ....................We are being bombarded with chemicals in our everyday products that can caus emajor health concerns. At 50 you should really be looking into this as they also take their toll on your skin. I personally use a natural organic brand that I can trust. They are all natural and good for your skin, provide natural SPF and a dewy glow. Minerals are better for your skin hands down, but your skin type makes a difference too. My whole family uses Faerie Organic Minerals. They are the best I have used and my mom (who is 54) uses them daily and gets compliments on how radiant she looks. She uses their tinted moisturizer as it has shea butter and is very good for aging skin, and then she uses the minerals on top of the moisturizer. I would really look into it if I where you, your health is important and so is your skin. They have free sample kits also so you can try it out first. Their website is http://www.faerieorganic.com
if you have nice skin, no blemishes, scars, etc, why not try a tinted moisturizer for the spring and summer months. as far as the best for your skin, your personal preferences are the key factor. do you like the way it looks and feels? are you happy with the effects on your skin? if yes then yes its the right product for you.
Mineral makeup is not good for older skin. It shows wrinkles and creases more than a cream or liquid. I would go to the estee lauder counter, or whtever brand you like and get a makeover and see what looks best.
I would suggest trying a lightweight cream foundation-it will be better for your age. I would suggest clinique
