Can you just wash your makeup off with face cleanser instead of using makeup removal?

I just clean my face with whatever neutrogena face cleanser I have during the shower to wash my makeup off. Do I need to use a cotton and use makeup removal to wipe off the makeup?

Any difference? Can you just wash your makeup off with face cleanser instead of using makeup removal?
I think the best way to remove makeup is to use Ponds Cold Cream...its amazing..it even gets off waterproof mascara..and its gentle on ur skin..hope i helped...=)Can you just wash your makeup off with face cleanser instead of using makeup removal?
Yes you can. But I would use a makeup remover for your eye makeup, since a cleanser could be too irritating.

I personally don't think that using a cleanser to remove makeup is the best option though, just because it leads to you washing your face with your makeup :s
There is no difference, I don't use a makeup remover. Face cleanser is designed to get the dirt and dead cells of your skin, that includes makeup. By not using makeup remover you are is putting less chemicals on your skin, which is a huge plus.
I just use the fash wash in my shower but ifi have some on when i get out i use a babby wipe and it comes rite off
Yes you can just use the face cleaner with a cotton ball...it works fine....:)
Yes! In Fact, I prefer using cleanser rather than makeup removal cloths, because my face feels spectacular afterward.
Thats what i do,

well i use cloth

What face makeup brand should I use?

I have very oily, acne-prone, sensitive skin and I am looking for a hypoallergenic, fragrance and oil free foundation/powder. I am currently using Rimmel and sometimes Bare Nautreals by Loreal.. but I am looking for something much better for my skin. I am deciding on trying either Clinique, Physicians Formula, or Almay. What do you suggest? What face makeup brand should I use?
Bee Luscious. It is the best IMHO.What face makeup brand should I use?
Physicians Formula. I love their powder foundations!!!!! I too have oily and sensitive skin. It's not expensive and it does the job beautifully. It also makes me feel good to know that there's not alot of harsh chemicals in their product.

Even though you have oily skin, you really should start out washing your face with something like Cetaphil soap. After that, I would recommend a light moisturizer designed for oily skin like Burt's Bees Radiance Day Cream. If the Day cream seems to oily to use under even powder foundation during the day, use it at night after you have used Cetaphil soap to cleanse your face.

I use Cetaphil because my Dermatologist recommends it and it's not expensive at all. It costs about $3.00 per bar and it lasts me at least 3 months or longer. The Day Cream is around $15.00 and it last at least 3 months, too.

I hope this helps!
BareMinerals by BareEscentuals brand is the #1 mineral makeup in America, used by celebrities and is beautiful on any skin type! you can order it online or at purchase at a beauty supply store, buy the kit, it includes brushes, bronzer, foundation (which doubles as concealer) and ';mineral veil'; which is a sheer, light powder that goes over everything and makes you glow. It is healthy for skin and you can apply it all in two minutes. I love it!

I am off the chart on oiliness, so I can relate to your problem. Both Clinique and Lancome make a powder makeup that is oil-free, provides light coverage, and doesn't promote breakouts. (Both look like a pressed powder compact.)

One piece of advice, DO NOT go for all the cleansers and oil blockers, etc that they will try to sell you. Overstripping the skin of oil will actually make it MORE OILY - sounds crazy, but it is true. Use a very gentle cleanser and rinse thoroughly (I have the opportunity to do this 3 times a day, but that may not work for your schedule). When out and about, use some of those oil blotting sheets to help control the shine. Some even come with a very neutral colored powder embedded in the oil blotting sheet - I think those work quite well.

Good luck and remember that when it comes to oily skin being overzealous in cleaning can actually make matters worse.
actually, for acne prone skin, i would suggest you try some MMU, or mineral makeup. Dayna's Minerals, Everyday Minerals, EGminerals, Bare Escentuls, Silk Naturals, are all good brands, and the best part? most of them (dayna's, everyday, eg, silk naturals, are all made by hand- they're home owned brands, and so you can get stuff personalized to your skin type as well. )

try it out. MMU. its good for any type of skin.

if you don't want to go the extra mile, olay is always good. their REGENERIST line of cleansers is particularly good for oily skin.

make sure to use a gentle cleanser, like Cetaphil's Facial Cleanser. special acne cleansers might actually irritate your skin even more.
yeah, if you have sensitive skin and all, id definitely invest in some skin care products. ultimately you want good skin without makeup. so talk to a dermatologist, if at all possible. theyll be able to help you the most. you can also go to a department store in any mall. there are tons of people at the various counters that can help you find the best makeup. if you can, try to get something as gentle and natural as possible. if you keep clogging pores youll always need makeup. good luck! :)
I had the same skin as you. I started using Bare Escentuals. I love it, my face is the clearest its been ever!

Its a little pricey but it lasts a while and its great for your skin. Dont try the knockoff brands, this is the best stuff. Been using it for over 3 years. You can get it a Sephora or some JCPennys have a Sephora in it.

I would suggest the trial kit thats $50 so you can get the brushes with the makeup. Also, the bronzer is great!
I would suggest Clinique, it's a great product for acne-prone skin. When you go to the counter, ask one of the people who work there which powder and moisturizer would be best for you
No7 is a good product and Olay because my mum has got a oily skin and a red face but its good now she like this product she has used loads more but this one is better
I swear by Clinique-I break out in blotches with any other.. I did try Almay, but it turned a little itchy-- the Almay mascara is ok.. for the works and sensitive skin..Clinique-good luck !
Use Neutrogena foundation. It's awesome
Almay is really great so is bare Essentials and mineral makeup all are great for the skin

What are the benefits of steaming your face before applying makeup?

and the disadvantages? What are the benefits of steaming your face before applying makeup?
There are no advantages. The disadvantage would be that steaming opens pores. Then the makeup will get inside the pores causing breakouts. If you splash the face with cold water the pores will close though. What are the benefits of steaming your face before applying makeup?
the only time to ever steam your face or hot pack it is when you're exfoliating, applying a mask, or extracting blackheads.

no benefits.

Face makeup; what is the difference between all of them?

Hey guys,

okay so today i was just wondering what is the difference between:

-concealer

-cover up

-foundation

-%26amp; powder.

Also, what do you wear first %26amp; perhaps what is the best drugstore kind to buy?

Thanks so much for helping me out!

=)Face makeup; what is the difference between all of them?
concealer and cover up and basically the same things, they both cover blemishes and rough spots on your skin. foundation evens out your skin tone and gives a good basis for makeup. powder sets liquid foundation and keeps makeup from running. you would apply first concealer, then foundation, then a powder to set it. walgreens has a lot of makeup options at a reasonable price.Face makeup; what is the difference between all of them?
Concealer: Concealer is used before or after the application of foundation. It is used to hide dark circles or bags under the eyes. It can also be used to hide blemishes. There are liquid forms, and powdered forms of concealers.

Coverup: Coverup is virtually the same as a concealer.

Foundation: Foundation creates the canvas for the rest of the makeup. It is used on the whole face, past the jawline. When looking for foundation, look for the shade closest to your original skin tone. Foundation comes in liquid form, powdered form, and mousse form.

Powder: A type of foundation or concealer that is in a dry form.

You first apply the foundation.

I am a fan of maybellines mousse foundations. But there are lots out there in the drugstores.
concealer and cover up are the same thing. foundation can be in powder form but there is also a different kind of powder that is used as a finish to set your makeup. most days i wear loreal bare naturale. i haven't found a finishing powder that i like that doesn't give me zits so i currently don't use finishing powder. right now for concealer im using revlon color stay concealer. i don't really like it but i have to use it up.

if you have oily skin or combination oily skin i recommend

loreal bare naturale (powder foundation)

loreal visible lift (liquid foundation. this one's ok but it's the best liquid one i can recommend)

if you have dry skin (sorry i can't think of more but i don't have dry skin)

rimmel london renew and lift

finding a good drugstore foundation is hard. i still haven't found a liquid one that i personally like that much.
Concealer: Covers up blemishes, under eye circles, face discoloration, any imperfections.

Cover up: Same thing as concealer.

Foundation: Covers your face, giving your face a dewy look.

Can be found in mouse, liquid, powder, or cream form.

Powder: Used to take the shine off of your face. Also used as foundation.,

Good drugstore concealer:

Good drugstore foundation:

Good drugstore powder:

I use all those products, and love them!
Concealer - covers spots, red spots, dark circles

Coverup - same as concealer

Foundation - cover sall face, creates polished look

Powder - Sets foundation, reduces oilyness etc

What are some ways to plump up your face with makeup?

Hmm..not sure about the plump up part and it's meaning. But if you want color, try Bare Escentuals mineral makeup. You'll get coverage, and can add color and definition to your face without that caked on , fake look. I love the stuff. Very gentle on your face too. What are some ways to plump up your face with makeup?
what do you mean by ';plump up';?What are some ways to plump up your face with makeup?
Do you mean make yourself look fat?

You would have to get a face lift, blush the apples of your cheeks, clear away baggy eyes, and eat more.

  • What is a good makeup powder face?

I have just started my waitress job, and I've realized that working there you're face get oily so easily.

Do you guys know any good face powder that I can just get it at any drug store like CVS or Walgreen..etc..

Anything please? What is a good makeup powder face?
if you wear foundation you should use a dry base one such as a mousse, which is reccomended for oily skin. as a professional makeup artist i would be more than happy to answr any more of your questions! www.myspace.com/tlomakeup or myspace.com/titanictaraWhat is a good makeup powder face?
maybelline has a good one, and so does Covergirl and covergirls' have that good makeup smell. you know what i mean? i personally use covergirl myself, and it works great! and for oily faces, i think brushes work better than those pad things they give. =]
maybelline has great mineral powder and also the same with physicians formula. there's plenty of powders in those drug stores. but those are the two i suggest. OH! and l'oreal tru match powder is awesome along with their foundation too.
I like Loreal Paris Translucide Naturally Luminous Powder, which I bought at Bartell Drugstore. You can also buy it at Walgreens.
you're skin goes shiny because you're getting hot, honey.

it may be enough to use anti-shine paper. from UMA, for example.

or to wash your face now and then ;-)
I have no idea at all, because I do not put any make-up, even when I go out.
MAC products are great! i use the mac face powder foundation thing. it works really well and its really long lasting
