Try applying something moist on your face beforehand. (Foundation, moisturizer, etc.) If that's not working for you, you may just want to buy a white face paint. That way your face won't appear cakey and powdery, like the baby powder residue will make it appear.
If the white face makeup is creamy then put that on first and then dust it with white baby powder. It should stay on pretty well. Don't put any powder on your face before the white paint goes on tho!
