There is a few products you need to invest in first.
Things you should spend good money on is for sure Face makeup, face wash and mascara.
You can get any cheap eyeshadows and lipsticks at drugstores.
I use I.D Bare Minerals Mineral Powder makeup. You can only order it off infomericals, but i found it on Ebay for way cheaper. It actually heals your skin, conceals beautifully and it doesnt look caked on or clownish looking.
Curl your eyelashes and put a few good coats of mascara on, not making it look clumpy.
For sure make sure your eyebrows are nice and tidy.
Use an eyeshadow that suites your eye color.
I have blue eyes and i use golds, purples, and earth tones.
Use a nice lipgloss, clear or a nice pink...
Try things out and experiment, youll find a good rountine that you love!I need expert makeup tips. How do I do a Covergirl type fresh face makeup look?
i would tell you to go to the local mall and go to the department store and go to the make up counter and have them do it for you or you can find a local mary kay seller like me and we would be more then happy to help you with a cover girl look
Step one:
Apply a thin layer of pressed powder UNDER your foundation, before you put it on. Try Covergirl Fresh Look pressed powder. This will help control shininess and bind your foundation to your skin so it will last longer. Be sure to have clean, washed skin before putting on any type of face makeup.

Step two:
Apply concealer just where you need it, not anywhere else. Over blemishes, on dark under eye circles/puffiness, and on dark spots/scars is really the only place to put it.
Try Covergirl Invisible Concealer:

Step three:
Apply your foundation with a clean makeup sponge or your fingers. If you have oily skin, use a powder foundation, and if you have dry skin, use a liquid foundation. If your kin is normal, you can use either. Use a makeup sponge or brush to apply powder, and your fingers to apply liquid. Make sure you rub it in all the way, also on your jawline and under your chin, so no one can tell where your makeup ends and your real skin begins.
For oily skin, try Covergirl Pocket Powder:

For normal skin, use CG TruBlend Liquid makeup:

For Dry skin, use CG AquaSmooth:

Step four:
Dust a light blush (no bright pinks!) on the apples of your cheeks, your chin, and above your eyebrows. This will give you a subtle rosy glow. Try Covergirl Cheekers Blush in Natural Shimmer, Rose Silk, Natural Rose, Plumberry Glow, or Pretty Peach.

Step five:
Apply mascara (brown for blondes and redheads, brown black for brunettes, black for darkest hair colors). Start from lash roots and move slowly upwards to the lash tips. Since you said you wanted to look natural, try a masara that does not have a rubber wand to get the most natural lashes.
Try CG Professional mascara:

Step six:
Apply a pencil liner to the top lid only. This will open up your eyes and make them seem bigger and brighter without looking like you have any eye makeup on. Try CG Outlast pencil liner in Olive or Espresso.

Step seven:
Eyeshadow is totally optional, but if you choose to wear it, go for a light color and only put it on the lid up to the crease. Never go all the way up to your brows with it.
Try CG Eye Enhancers 1-kit shadows in Meringue Blush, Rosy Outlook, Snow Blossom, French Vanilla, Champagne, Mink, or Bedazzled Biscotti.
Step eight:
Finish everything off with a light lipstick or gloss. If youre under 17, use just a gloss, otherwise you'll look trampish. Since you're whole look is toned down, keep the lips neutral as well. For lipstick, try CG TruShine Lipcolor in Rosy Shine, Petal Shine, Peach Shine, Nude Shine, or Blushberry Shine. For gloss, try CG Wetslicks Fruit Spritzers in Guava Splash, Strawberry Splash, or Lemon Splash.
Also, you can look here and see if there are any looks you like, they also have the steps to follow to get them.

Good luck, hope this helped you!
visit your local mall and schedule a make-up glass with one of the make-up counter specialists.
always wash your face before putting anything on it. the first thing after that is to moisturize (preferably one with at least spf 15). then to keep a natural glow, go for a medium coverage liquid foundation. i use mary kay, you can also try that perfect match stuff from almay. if you need to, use a bronzer but dont overdo it. the key is to look natural and having your face not match your neck isn't very natural. then, blush, the eyeliner and lash of your choice, and two shadows. the first is your highlighter and should be very light and shimmery, it will go all over your lid but the focus should be on the brow bone (right under your eyebrow) and near the tear ducts to highlight. then finish off your eye with a simple brown shadow(but not too dark or too much), just sweep it over your eye quickly. the very last step is a sheer powder that will cover your face and kind of hold everything in place. i use ';Cornsilk';, its just a loose colorless powder that you sweep over your entire face to finish the look
